In the Nô-piece Nagasaki no seibo (Holy Mother in Nagasaki, 2005) by Tada Tomio, adapted by Nô-master Shimizu Kanji, a Japanese pilgrim learns about the legend of a woman, surmised to have been the Virgin Mary, who appeared to console the victims of the atomic bomb.
