Symposium "Religious control in pre-modern Japan"

The symposium "Religious control in pre-modern Japan", which will be held from October 31 until November 3, 2018 at the Austrian Academy of Sciences, organized by the Academy's Institute for Cultural and Intellectual History of Asia, discusses a dynamic alliance between religion and politics in Japan between 1600 and 1867.

Speakers include Bernhard Scheid and Brigitte Pickl-Kolakczia, both of whom are long-time friends and lecturers at our department.
